East Delacroix Marsh Creation Project
About this Project
The East Delacroix Marsh Creation Project is designed to create and nourish approximately 414 acres of marsh and construct 18,880 linear feet of terraces, covering roughly 15 acres, to help protect the Delacroix community from environmental threats. This project plays a crucial role in enhancing the region's resilience by reinforcing natural barriers against erosion and storm surge.
Timbalier Resources continues to serve as the lead land service contractor for the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA), securing the necessary servitude interests to ensure the project's success. The East Delacroix Marsh Creation Project also marked the first implementation of one of Timbalier's custom online GIS tools. This tool integrates CPRA's design data with ongoing land rights acquisition efforts in the field, streamlining the process and enhancing coordination across the project team. Through this integration, the project advanced with greater precision and efficiency, contributing to the long-term protection of Delacroix.
