New Orleans Landbridge Project
About this Project
The New Orleans East Landbridge Restoration project addresses the urgent need to combat shoreline erosion and protect the region from hurricane surge. Located on a landbridge that separates Lake Pontchartrain from Lake Borgne, this large-scale marsh creation project is critical in controlling the potential flow of storm surge into Lake Pontchartrain. The area has experienced significant shoreline retreat due to exposure to wave energy and storm surge, leading to the expansion of ponds and lakes within the marsh.
Timbalier Resources served as the lead land service contractor for the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA), securing the necessary servitude interests for the New Orleans Landbridge Project. Timbalier Resources also provided a custom online pipeline and utility report, enabling the state to effectively notify all operators of the upcoming project. This integration of land services with advanced reporting tools ensured that the project was well-coordinated, laying the foundation for the successful creation and restoration of the marsh.
