Golden Triangle Marsh Creation Project (PO-163)

About this Project

The Golden Triangle Wetland Habitat Restoration project aims to create 600 acres of new wetland habitat, restore degraded marshland, and reduce wave erosion in a vital brackish marsh area. This narrow band of wetland serves as a critical natural buffer, forming part of the multiple lines of defense that protect vulnerable communities in New Orleans from storm surge.

Timbalier Resources played a pivotal role as the lead land service contractor for the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority (CPRA), securing the necessary servitude interests to ensure the project's success. In this project, Timbalier Resources began the integration of the State's design data with land rights information, creating an online mapping resource that centralized land rights data for the entire project team. The integrated and innovative approach streamlined collaboration, ensuring a focused and coordinated effort in restoring the Golden Triangle’s crucial wetlands.
